Daniel RENTON was born the 2nd Son and 7th Child of 16 to George Renton and Jane Luke. He was fondly named after his Grandfather, Daniel Renton. Life and times were hard growing up as with any big family in those days moving from camp to camp to follow the work.  Mining was in the blood and this is where it led Daniel also. He didn't come out rich but came out a survivor.  He married a young girl who grew up and around Omeo and they soon married. Daniel being 24 and Letitia almost 21yrs. Letitia died during childbirth with her first and only child, a daughter. Sadly, the daughter was to die also.  Daniel would of been in dismay no doubt of his loss but threw himself into working on the many reefs around the area. It would be 6yrs after Letitia's death that Daniel married again.
