Although not much is known about this family, and the records are fairly scant, local oral history has ensured a legacy was left by this family.  Edward Patch was the licensee of the Omeo Hotel in Omeo around the turn of the century. Room eight was well known at during his time in Omeo, where many of his female workers were known to entertain his patrons. It is said that many of the illegitimate children of the district were conceived in this hotel whilst under the ownership of Edward and his wife Charlotte.
